I'm Still Here!

Hey guys, I know it's been quite a while since my last actual birding post, too long in fact. I haven't really been able to get out much with the spring semester in full swing. Good news though! I was accepted as a junior transfer to UC Irvine, which was the home of that worm-eating warbler this winter.

Also, I am tentatively signed up for a summer program in Heridia, Costa Rica(!) this summer through UCI. I will take 8 units, two classes - one on Biodiversity and Conservation, and the other on The Pre-History of Costa Rica. The classes are at the Universidad Interamerica de Costa Rica, and we take three side trips - to Arenal, Punta Leona, and Guyabo and Turriaba. Needless to say, I'm very excited about birding Costa Rica. Field guide reccomendations anyone?

Lastly, I did go birding a few days ago, and only got a few semi-decent shots, I'll post them below for the sake of adding color to this post. I particularly like the one of the willow fuzz because it looks like its snowing =)

To my bug people: moth or butterfly? species?

What camera do you use? I love the photos you take. Congratulations on getting into UCI.

Thanks Bill!

I use a Cannon digital Rebel XT EOS with a 75-300mm telephoto zoom lens. I love it, but I'll be happy to get the 100-400 lens when I can afford it sometime in the future =)
