Low-Impact Development Can Have a Huge Impact on Run-Off

Many people don't realize how much runoff from urban and suburban areas impact the water quality of our rivers, streams, lakes, and oceans. Here's a link to EPA's site on how low-impact development, and green infrastructure improvements can vastly decrease the impact that non-point sources have on pollution.

Brilliant! I'm really hoping to see 'low impact' requirements for birds on the list of considerations (LEED, etc) - Audubon MN just came out with a fantastic set of guidelines *coughshamelesspromotion* http://mn.audubon.org/birds-science-education/project-birdsafe/bird-safe-buildings

haha looove it! Yes, I think bird-friendly development is absolutely the next step for LEEDs and other green building certifications.
